Child Safeguarding Policy

How Integrity Compass protects the children and young people who engage with our programs.

Integrity Compass Ethical Youth Development and Leadership Initiative (Integrity Compass) is committed to creating a safe, respectful and empowering environment for every child and young person who engages with our programs.

Our commitment

We believe every child has the right to be protected from harm, abuse, exploitation and neglect. All staff, volunteers, mentors, partners and contractors are required to uphold this policy without exception.

Core principles

  • Zero tolerance for any form of abuse, exploitation, harassment or discrimination against children.
  • The safety and best interests of the child guide every decision we make.
  • Confidential, accessible reporting channels are available to children, parents, staff and the public.
  • All personnel undergo screening, orientation and periodic safeguarding training.
  • Two-adult rule and clear codes of conduct apply during all program activities.

Reporting a concern

Any concern about the safety or welfare of a child in connection with Integrity Compass should be reported immediately to safeguarding@integritycompass.africa. Reports are handled confidentially and, where appropriate, referred to relevant authorities.

Review

This policy is reviewed annually by Integrity Compass leadership and the Board of Trustees to reflect evolving best practice and legal requirements.
